Due to the differences in meat eating habits between Chinese and Westerners, there is a greater demand for pork, especially for pig offal. Since 2005, the pork market has been open for free import. The cost of domestic pig raising is 1.7 to 1.8 times higher than that of pork exporting countries. The low prices of heart, kidney, belly, intestines and other pig offal, and the large amount of imports have lowered the price of domestic pig offal, and also lowered the auction price of pigs in the meat market, reducing the profitability of pig farmers. In addition, since 2021, American pork will be allowed to enter Taiwan. Because American pigs are fed ractopamine (clenbuterol), the price of American pork is lower than that of Taiwanese pork. This will increase the competition of domestic pig farmers in the meat market pressure. The breeding and rearing efficiency of pigs is low. The main reason is that the domestic high temperature and humidity, coupled with the difficulty of disease control, and the inadequate biosafety concept, lead to higher piglet mortality in the nursery stage than abroad. This paper focuses on the high mortality of piglets in the nursery stage. Establish the implementation and realization of the environmental temperature control of the farrowing room and auxiliary breastfeeding equipment in the feeding and management links of the suckling piglets.
